James Buchanan
Jim Buchanan is CEO and Chair of Member Benefits, LLC, a marketing/ technology firm that helps non-profits increase fundraising revenue and create long-term donor relationships.
Jim has been CEO and Chair of Zone Labs, a health oriented biotech company; CEO of Biostream, Inc. (Molecular Insight) an early stage venture backed specialty pharmaceutical company; founding member at S&H GreenPoints (the digital reincarnation of S&H Greenstamps); Managing Director of Hasbro Interactive; President and Board member of Hyde Athletic Industries (makers of Saucony, Spot-Bilt, Merlin, Brookfield and Hyde Athletic products); and Director of Marketing New Ventures and European Marketing VP at General Mills.
JCreating his own company, Jim is CEO and Founder of jBuchanan and Associates. His organization provides strategic management services. Their focus is on early and mid-stage emerging companies – firms ready to reach for the next level. They advise top management, Boards, investors and institutions on issues of strategy, structure organization, technology and operations.
The common thread in Jim’s background has been his leadership in the creation of world-class brands in Consumer Goods, Life Sciences and Software public and private companies.
Jim is President, Board of Associates of the Osher Rare Map Library and Smith Center for Cartographic Research/ University of Southern Maine, and Board Member and Trustee Emeritus of the Forbeck Cancer Research Foundation.
Jim received his BS from Quinnipiac University and MBA from University of Bridgeport. Prior to graduate and undergraduate school, Jim served in Vietnam with the United States Marine Corps.
